It is impossible to not let life affect your work. Every day, I see how true that statement has become.
For nearly three years, we’ve lived in a global pandemic that has irrevocably affected billions of lives. We’ve had to overcome unprecedented challenges – from rethinking careers, facing illnesses and losses, to changing the way we live. Putting that in context, feeling alone, lost, anxious, depressed, scared is expected, wouldn’t you say?
It has become important more now than ever, to take care of our mental and emotional health. Unless we’re emotionally feeling fit, it is difficult to bring hundred percent of ourselves to work. As we continue to hold ourselves to high standards, it becomes our duty to also equip ourselves with the weapons we need to face every day.
That was the thought behind making mental health resources available at Rayden Interactive – an initiative to give our team access to free, confidential help online from licensed mental health professionals. Because no matter how big or small a problem might be, we all can use a sounding board sometimes.
I have to admit, I was a bit sceptical about the number of people who would choose it – after all, there is still some stigma around needing professional help for your mental health. But I’m happily surprised at the overwhelming response our initiative has received. Almost 30% of Raydenites have made time to look after their mental health since we started the program, making tremendous strides towards de-stigmatizing mental health issues, and the results are evident – we’ve never been this happy, empathetic, or productive!
